Discount Announced by Pakistan Railways
With a 33 percent fee drop, Pakistanis may now travel home more easily and affordably, as the government tried to provide relief to travellers.
The fare cut will be available for all classes, including business class, parlor car class, and economy class, according to the notice.
Additionally, these substantial discounts are available to those who are travelling in AC standard and AC sleeper vehicles.
On the occasion of Eid, three special trains will operate according to the railways. On July 26 (Monday), the first special train for Eid would go from Quetta to Peshawar.
The two-day holiday that the Pakistani government had announced on the occasion of Eid ul Azha was extended earlier this week.
The administration of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has decided to extend holidays starting on Wednesday, June 28, days after designating two holidays for the Feast of Sacrifice.
Pakistan is expected to observe Eid ul Azha on Thursday, June 29. One of the two major Islamic festivals will fall on Thursday this year, the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee announced on Monday.
Separately, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), the country’s flag carrier, has also gotten behind the celebration. For the three days of Eid ul Azha, PIA would provide domestic flights at a 10% discount.
