Satellite MM1

The upcoming satellite, MM1, is a collaboration between SUPARCO and the National Space Agency that will contribute to the development of a cutting-edge communication system.

MM1 is poised to improve the country’s 5G internet services in response to rising telecom demands.

Notably, ICUBE Qamar, Pakistan’s first lunar mission, reached a significant milestone by successfully entering the moon’s orbit only three days ago.

Operating under extreme conditions, with temperatures as low as minus 100 degrees Celsius, the MM1 is outfitted with a 7kg one-megapixel camera designed specifically for missions with strict power constraints.

Its ability to transmit images at a modest 1-kbps rate will enable surface-level analysis, providing critical information on crater locations, water, and ice traces on the moon’s surface. These findings, obtained using a variety of techniques, hold great promise for global application.
