Pakistan LPG Supply Stable as Port Qasim Receives Multiple Shipments

Pakistan LPG supply

Pakistan currently has sufficient LPG (Liquefied Petroleum Gas) reserves, and the country’s fuel stock is stable. Recently, multiple shipments have arrived at Port Qasim, which is helping maintain stability in the domestic LPG market.

Shipments at Port Qasim

According to officials, four LPG vessels have recently docked at Port Qasim one carrying 11,000 metric tonnes, two carrying 12,000 metric tonnes each, and a large tanker with 35,000 metric tonnes of LPG. These shipments significantly strengthen the country’s LPG reserves.

Supply Status Across the Country

With these shipments, Pakistan has sufficient LPG supply and there is no immediate shortage. The LPG Distributors Association of Pakistan has confirmed that the country currently has adequate LPG stocks and the supply chain is stable.

Variations in Retail Prices

Despite sufficient supply, some areas are witnessing higher retail prices for LPG. Some traders justify this increase by pointing to fluctuations in international crude oil prices, while experts suggest that market speculation is also contributing to the higher prices.

Government Rate vs Market Rate

Currently, the official government price for LPG in Karachi is Rs250 per kilogram. However, market prices can vary, with some vendors charging more depending on the area and demand.

Future Price Expectations

Irfan Khokhar, chairman of the LPG Distributors Association of Pakistan, said that although supply has improved, prices may remain high for a short time. However, they are expected to decrease in the coming days, providing relief to domestic consumers.
