Pakistan Launches Real Time Passport Monitoring System

Pakistan has officially launched a state-of-the-art real-time passport monitoring system called SHIKRA (Secure Hybrid Intelligence for Knowledge-Based Response Analytics). The system was inaugurated by Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi at the Directorate General of Immigration & Passports in Islamabad on 26 January 2026.

The purpose of SHIKRA is to digitally monitor, manage, and streamline passport operations across Pakistan and its overseas missions, providing transparency, accountability, and efficiency to both officials and citizens.
