As a result of Pakistan’s thrilling 7 September victory over Afghanistan, India has been eliminated from the Asia Cup 2022. The green shirts have secured a final match against Sri Lanka with this victory.
Pakistan struggled to get going when chasing a small 130-run total, with both Babar Azam and Fakhar Zaman scoring in the single digits. But Pakistan was able to stay in the game because of important hits from Iftikhar Ahmed and Shadab Khan, who was batting at number five after being promoted.
Pakistan has advanced to the Asia Cup final thanks to Naseem Shah’s late blitz, which included two sixes off of two hits in the final over.
The Pakistani players kept onto their nerves the whole game, which was filled with drama and excitement. Today’s game between Pakistan and Afghanistan was tense, as it has been in recent Pakistan-Afghanistan matches. Naseem Shah won it for Pakistan in the final over, while Afghan bowlers put up a strong effort.
As they chased 130, Pakistan appeared to be in command until the final few overs, when Afghani bowlers fought back and put Babar’s team 9 runs behind. Fazalhaq Farooqi bowled two low full deliveries to Naseem, who was perfectly positioned in the crease to whack them over the boundary line, with 11 needed in the last over.
