Pakistan become no#1 to secure Erasmus Mundus scholarships

According to a tweet posted on Thursday from the European Union’s (EU) Pakistan office, 192 deserving students from Pakistan have been awarded the program’s top scholarship, the Erasmus Mundus Scholarship.

With this accomplishment, Pakistan takes first spot, followed by India (174 scholarships), Bangladesh (140), Mexico (118), and Nigeria (109).

Why is Erasmus Mundus program important for Pakistan

As an important collaboration and mobility effort in higher education, the Erasmus Mundus programme should not be overlooked. Through collaborations with other nations, it hopes to improve educational opportunities throughout Europe and promote cross-cultural understanding and respect.

The programme is funded by the European Union and awards scholarships to students from all over the world so that they can study in Europe. The Master’s programmes currently financed by the European Union are included in the annual updated Erasmus Mundus Catalogue.

While the financing period for many of these programmes has ended, others may still be able to use the Erasmus Mundus brand temporarily until their own funding is renewed.
