The assignment phase follows the successful completion of the primary 5G spectrum auction, which raised approximately $507 million by selling 480 MHz of spectrum across multiple frequency bands, including the key 3500 MHz range. Major telecom operators such as Jazz Pakistan, Ufone, and Zong Pakistan secured significant portions of the spectrum during this initial auction.
Understanding the Assignment Stage
Unlike the initial auction where operators won the rights to specific spectrum blocks, the current assignment stage determines the exact placement of those blocks within the 3500 MHz and 2600 MHz bands.
