Pak Suzuki is being sued by a man for failing to repair a critical fault under warranty

A consumer has filed a lawsuit against Pak Suzuki Motor Company (PSMC) for allegedly failing to complete a warranty claim.

A customer who purchased a Suzuki Alto VXL AGS from a shop in Faisalabad discovered a severe defect in his car immediately after purchase, according to facts. According to a legal document provided on ProPakistani,

“After approximately 4 months’ time, the vehicle has been found defective due to mechanical issues. My client has been confronting problem in gear shifting that also causes large amount of oil consumption and vibration to entire vehicle. As the problem persisted, my client rushed to nearby authorised Suzuki workshop in Jhang. The workshop personnel told my client that a gear needed to be replaced and for that seven hundred thousand rupees (Rs. 700,000) would be charged. My client provided warranty card, however, the workshop personnel denied entertaining that warranty claim. Otherwise, page 2 of the warranty book clearly mentions for a claim of warranty if a vehicle has not been driven for more than sixty thousand kilometres (60,000 km) from the date of invoice. My client’s vehicle is only driven to thirteen thousand kilometre (13,000 km) till 19 December 2021.”

The plaintiff says that he took his car to many dealerships in Lahore, where he now lives. He said that one of the dealerships tried to deceive him by bringing up irrelevant issues in order to defraud him of money.

He also mentioned that he paid for his car’s throttle service and other maintenance fees in the hopes of resolving the problem, but the problem continued. According to the customer, an auto expert found the problem with his gearbox a few days later.’

During a subsequent inspection, the dealership informed the complainant that experts would perform various tests on his vehicle and that replacing the gearbox would be the company’s final choice.

Following the test, the company used a field technical information report (FTIR) written by PSMC’s own field test driver to confirm the customer’s diagnosis of a gearbox failure.

Despite this, the plaintiff claims that the dealership refused to consider his warranty claim. He further claimed that the dealership’s CEO sought to persuade him to discontinue his legal case by telling him that his notification was irrelevant.

The plaintiff filed a case against PSMC and its dealership after the 30-day statutory term for his legal notification had expired. He further stated that the court has set a June 18, 2022 deadline for reconciliation, despite the fact that the corporation has remained mute on the matter.
