Pakistan has once again foiled nefarious Indian plans, as the Pakistan Navy detected and prevented an Indian submarine from entering Pakistani waters.
The incident occurred earlier this week on Tuesday, when the Pakistan Navy’s Anti-Submarine Warfare Unit detected the Kalvari class Indian submarine near the Pakistani littoral boundary and forced it to return, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
Amid an ongoing naval drill and “prevailing security environment,” Pakistan was aware of the possibility of India trying to enter its maritime zone for reconnaissance, said Maj. Gen. Babar Iftikhar.
The Pakistan Navy enforced “strict monitoring … and stringent vigilance procedures” and “prematurely intercepted and tracked the latest Indian submarine Kalvari,” he said.
“Yet again through continuous vigilance and professionalism Pakistan Navy has foiled (an) Indian submarine’s attempt of entering into Pakistani waters,” he added.
The incident demonstrates the Pakistan Navy’s constant vigilance, operational readiness, and professional competence, according to the ISPR statement.
The Pakistan Navy has received public and political acclaim for timely detecting and thwarting Indian attempts to breach Pakistan’s maritime borders.
It should be noted that this is the fourth such attempt by the Indian Navy in the last five years that the Pakistan Navy has effectively thwarted and defended the country’s maritime borders.
In October of last year, the Pakistan Navy’s Long Range Maritime Patrol Aircraft detected an Indian submarine near the Pakistani border and forced it to return.
