The company behind the AI-powered ChatGPT, OpenAI, said on Thursday that it is quickly approaching one billion unique visits each month.
OpenAI is quickly overtaking the other top 50 sites in terms of visitor growth. According to a news service, ChatGPT is a conversational chatbot driven by artificial intelligence. Traffic to openai.com increased by 54.21% month over month, according data provided by VezaDigital, a US-based SaaS Webflow design and performance marketing organisation.
The advertising firm studied Similarweb’s (an Israel-based software and data company) data on the top 50 most-visited websites in March to see which strategies worked best.
When asked about the meteoric rise of ChatGPT, Stefan Katanic, CEO of Veza Digital, told that, “The ChatGPT phenomenon spread like wildfire at the end of 2022 and we expect it to soon break all records of being the fastest-ever website to reach 1 billion monthly active users in such an incredibly short space of time.”
OpenAI jumped nine ranks, from number 27 to number 18, thanks to the 847.8 million unique people who visited the site in March.
Even more impressive was the 24-spot surge in February 2023, when ChatGPT’s creator went from being the 51st most visited website in the world to being listed at number 27.
Katanic continued, “We believe that AI will play a big role in over 50 per cent of businesses in the next five years, as such we are even looking to embrace this technology advancement in our daily operations as well as strategically geo-positioning of our company.”
OpenAI had more than a billion visitors in February, and that number is likely to increase to more than 1.6 billion in March. It’s important to note that the United States is the leading source of traffic to OpenAI, accounting for one in every nine users.
