According to previous rumors, the OnePlus 12 will not be released for some time. For the latter half of this year, the company appears to be prioritizing a substantial upgrade over a rushed one.
OnePlus 12 New Upgrades
According to notable tipper Yogesh Brar, the device will be released in early Q1 of the following year, with a Chinese release scheduled for December 2023.
The report highlights several significant enhancements, with the camera department receiving special attention. The main sensor is expected to be replaced with a new one, possibly with a 1-inch imager similar to the Oppo Find X6 Pro.
Furthermore, the leak implies the inclusion of a new telephoto lens. The existing 32MP Sony IMX709 RGBW unit will most likely be retained for the telephoto setup, but paired with an improved lens.
Hopefully, this will result in improved zoom performance, as the OnePlus 11’s zoom performance was somewhat underwhelming despite its overall good quality.
In addition to camera enhancements, the OnePlus 12 is expected to receive a display upgrade. Speculations suggest that a next-generation panel, possibly an LTPO4 OLED screen, will be used.
According to rumors, the OnePlus 12 will support faster charging than its predecessor, which currently supports 100W.
There is also mention of a symmetrical design, though the exact meaning of this detail is unknown. It’s possible that it’s referring to the camera island on the device’s back, which could be centered for a more balanced aesthetic.
