Former Pakistan cricketer Mohammad Hafeez has been given numerous positions by Zaka Ashraf, the chairman of the newly created PCB executive committee.

Hafeez and Ashraf met on Thursday at the PCB offices in Lahore, where Hafeez offered Ashraf his congratulations on resuming the position of PCB leader.

Ashraf suggested two crucial roles to Hafeez during their conversation: the top selector position for Pakistan or a significant position at the National Cricket Academy.

Hafeez thanked Ashraf for the offers and stated his excitement about helping Pakistan cricket advance after receiving them.

However, he asked for some time to talk with his family and friends before deciding on the roles in a final way.

Mohammad Hafeez Thoughts on Getting Position in PCB

Hafeez stated that it would be an honor for him to serve Pakistan cricket, if he is given respect, dignity, and complete authority in his post. He highlighted that if given the chance, he would work relentlessly to bring about improvements in the team.

He emphasized that he is not motivated by financial gain but rather by a sincere desire to take Pakistan cricket to new heights.

In addition, he commended Ashraf for being a reputable administrator and expressed his gratitude for the proposals made to him during their meeting.

Najam Sethi left the PCB management committee recently, and Zaka Ashraf was named as the new chairman in his place.

As a result, Haroon Rashid’s prior job as Chief Selector is now vacant, and a replacement appointment will be made as soon as possible.

In an interview, Haroon Rashid affirmed that he is no longer associated with the board in any way.

Additionally, there have been rumors that other well-known Pakistani cricket players, such as former captain Younis Khan, Mohsin Hassan Khan, and Saleem Yousaf, are also being considered for positions within the new system.

Despite Shoaib Akhtar’s name being brought up, Zaka Ashraf ultimately opted not to give him a position in the PCB.
