After receiving approval from the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA), the distribution business raised the price of electricity for K-Electric consumers by Rs11.37 per unit (NEPRA).
The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority increased K-Electric customers’ electricity rates by Rs11.37, which is Rs. 0.01 less than the power company had requested.
Regarding fuel adjustment fees for June 2022, consent was given. Customers of Lifeline won’t be impacted by the hike.
K-Electric requested an 11.38 rupee increase in the cost of power. A firm spokesperson stated that the increase was only in effect for one month in accordance with NEPRA rules and the FAC formula. The electricity provider ascribed the hike to a 42 percent surge in furnace oil costs between March and June 2022 on overseas markets.
“The RLNG prices also rose by 50 from March to June,” according to a K-Electric representative.
It is important to note that K-Electric requested an increase in the electricity rate of Rs11.34 per unit, and the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) increased the power cost for K-Electric customers by Rs9.66 per unit on June 4.
The request for fuel adjustment costs for May came up at the NEPRA hearing.
