The victory of the No-Confidence Motion against Imran Khan has not only forced the incumbent administration to resign, but will also have a significant influence on practically all government ministries.
Although the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is a unanimous body, a number of high-profile changes are also likely.
The Prime Minister of Pakistan is also the PCB’s Patron-in-Chief, and sources say Ramiz Raja would be replaced by previous chairman Najam Sethi.
When PML-N leader Shehbaz Sharif takes office as the next Prime Minister, a number of directors, including the Chairman, are expected to lose their seats.
The frontrunner for the role is Najam Sethi, who has served as PCB Chairman three times; however, it remains to be seen whether Ramiz Raja is expelled by the incoming administration or presents his resignation himself.
In either event, the incoming premier will name a candidate for the position, and Najam Sethi is a strong contender.
Ramiz Raja and PCB CEO Faisal Hasnain are currently in Dubai for a critical ICC Board meeting, when they are expected to propose the much anticipated four-nation Super Series featuring India, Australia, and England on an annual basis, with money split by the boards involved.
