NADRA Warns Overseas Pakistanis About a New ID Theft Scam

The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has alerted overseas Pakistanis, particularly those in the United Kingdom, about a fake website pretending to be the official authority. The fraudulent platform, called “NADRA Card Centre” at nadra.cardcentre.co.uk, is misleading users by offering services like NICOP processing, ID card issuance, and even fake job opportunities. NADRA clarified that the website has no official connection to the authority.

Officials warned that personal information submitted on the fake website could be misused, potentially resulting in financial fraud or identity theft. They advised overseas Pakistanis to avoid interacting with the platform and report any suspicious activity immediately. NADRA has filed a complaint with the National Cyber Crime Agency and requested prompt action to identify and stop those behind the scam.

How Citizens Can Protect Themselves

NADRA emphasized the importance of verifying official sources before submitting any personal information online. Citizens are encouraged to use only the official NADRA website and helplines for processing NICOPs, ID cards, or other services. Awareness about fake platforms is crucial, especially for overseas Pakistanis who may not have easy access to NADRA centers. Vigilance can prevent fraud and protect personal data from being exploited by scammers.

NADRA Urges Married Citizens to Update Records

In addition to the scam warning, NADRA reminded married citizens to update their marital status in its records to avoid legal complications. Many people register marriages with local Union Councils but fail to reflect the change in the NADRA database. Updating records ensures all official documents are accurate and prevents problems in situations requiring identity verification or legal proof of marital status.
