Microsoft Power Platform Certification enables Pakistani young girls to work as software developers

Microsoft, the world’s largest software firm, has been encouraging young women to pursue careers in software development. The Microsoft Power platform has made it simple for even primary school pupils to create unique applications that meet their specific needs.

Power Platform is ideal for automating fundamental business operations with Power Automate, performing data analysis with Power BI, creating simple Power Apps experiences, and creating useful chatbots with Power Virtual Agents.

Because of the certification’s user-friendly design, 10-year-old Pakistani twins Zara and Zenubia have become the world’s youngest twin pair to obtain the Microsoft Power Platform Fundamentals certification.

With little or no coding experience, they began their journey to app development by adopting a growth mindset and encouraging creative expression and self-discovery from a young age.

When both twin sisters were introduced to the Microsoft Learn platform, which contained applications and resources, they were inspired to create their first Microsoft Power Platform app—an spending tracker that reads data from an Excel spreadsheet and assists users in budgeting.

During the COVID-19 lockdown, their father was compelled to work from home, which piqued their interest in software. They began studying about software and basic programming on their own from there.

Even after school restarted, they continued to pursue their passion in programming and began reproducing web-based apps in their spare time, as well as developing cost management solutions for their father.

Microsoft Education Lead for Pakistan, Mr. Jibran said “Microsoft believes in empowering people of all ages to bring best out of them in term of creativity and innovative solutions with the help of Technology.

Microsoft has long history of nurturing creative minds by offering user-friendly technological platforms that are easy to use even at early age. Microsoft continue to strive for intelligent solutions that have early adoption to prepare next generation of Tech savvy”.

However, these outstanding intelligent girls are not the first Pakistanis to achieve such high achievement at such a young age; Arfa Karim, the world’s youngest Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP), was only nine years old when she achieved the world’s youngest Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP).

She was also the youngest person in Pakistan to get the Pride of Performance award, and her name was added to the Guinness Book of World Records.
