The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has enrolled MICO World Limited, a web-based entertainment company, under the “Evacuation and Blocking of Unlawful Online Content (Procedure, Oversight, and Safeguards) Rules, 2021.”
PTA has designated MICO World Limited, a Hong Kong-based company, as a Significant Social Media Company (SSMC) under Rule 7 (6) of the Unlawful Online Content (Procedure, Oversight, and Safeguards) Rules 2021.
The Significant Social Media Company (SSMC) has submitted an application for enrolment of two applications, such as MICO and YoHo, under the principles, which were approved by the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA).
Agents from the tech firm attended the event at the PTA base camp and completed the enrollment process.
After Joyo Technology Pakistan Pvt. Ltd (Snack Video) and BIGO Service Pakistan Pvt. Ltd, MICO World Limited has become the third company to join the PTA (BIGO Live, Likee).
“The enlistment of a third organization is one more declaration to PTA’s obligation to seek after the public authority’s vision of computerized Pakistan to help the computerized economy of the country to develop,” the controller said in an explanation.
