MG Motor has reached a significant milestone, with the 1 millionth vehicle destined for international export rolling off the assembly line.
The historic model was a new MG ZS crossover, which represents the British-born marque’s impressive achievement since it began exports in 2007 following its acquisition by SAIC Motor of China.
MG now sells its vehicles in 84 countries worldwide, with the Middle East being one of its most important markets.
Due to extreme hot and harsh weather conditions, the Middle East is regarded as one of the most difficult markets.
However, in the eight years since the brand’s official launch at the Dubai International Motor Show, MG has sold over 120,000 cars in the region.
As a result of this increased popularity, MG is now ranked sixth among Middle Eastern automotive brands.
MG’s Managing Director, Tom Lee, commented on the achievement:
“This latest milestone is a further confirmation of the remarkable rise of the MG brand across the world. It illustrates the commitment MG has to its customers, both globally and regionally, ranging from the support provided by our Advanced Design Studio in London, our extended support team in Head Quarters to that delivered by our dedicated partners across the Middle East.”
This success has been replicated in a number of other global markets, with customers from all over the world appreciating MG’s high-quality driving experience.
According to the press release, MG is now ranked among the top ten brands in 18 countries, including Australia, New Zealand, and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
