The long-awaited micro electric vehicle (EV) from MG has finally been introduced in India. The tiny EV, also known as Wuling Air in other nations and MG Comet in India, is designed to appeal to people looking for a compact city automobile.

Test drives for the Mini EV will start on April 27, and bookings for the three-door EV will open on May 15 with deliveries starting later that month.

MG’s Mini EV Comet Exterior and Interior

The boxy form of the Comet EV includes a full-width LED light bar and MG’s Extended Horizon connecting lights. The wing mirrors are connected by chrome and piano black trim.

The Comet EV’s charging connection features an illuminated MG logo underneath the light bar.

It has asymmetrical side windows, vertical rear windows, and 12-inch alloy wheels. For the EV, there are additional five colours, decals, and lighted graphics kits available.

The interior of the EV is white and grey, and the infotainment system and digital instrument cluster are both displayed on two 10.25-inch screens. The rear seats split 50:50, and the front passenger seat has a one-touch tumble and fold.

In addition, it offers manual AC controls, keyless entry, steering-mounted controls, three USB ports, and 55 connected functions. Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are also available. The Comet EV is equipped with dual front airbags, ABS, EBD, TPMS, sensors, and a reverse camera.

The Comet EV from MG offers a 230 km driving range that has been verified by ARAI. This is a 17.3kWh lithium-ion battery with an IP67 rating that was purchased from Tata AutoComp. A 7-hour charging period is possible with an inbuilt charger of 3.3 kW.

The MG Comet’s rear wheels are driven by a 42 hp and 110 Nm electric motor with a single-speed transmission. The little EV should be entertaining to drive because of its light weight, compact size, and rear-wheel drive system.

The price of the MG Comet in India is Rs. 789,000, which is equal to Rs. 2.77 million in Pakistani rupees. Even if it is pricey for Pakistanis, the MG Comet is an excellent entry-level EV for India.
