Meta is expected to release its first AR glasses in the year 2024

Meta, Facebook’s parent corporation, has been pouring billions of dollars into bringing the concept of the metaverse to reality, but the firm hasn’t been able to persuade many people so far. However, according to a recent story from The Verge, the corporation is working on new AR glasses dubbed Project Nazare.

According to the source, Meta intends to officially introduce the device in 2024, with more advanced variants of the glasses available in 2026 and 2028.

According to the article, the corporation has spent billions of dollars on the creation of these future AR glasses, which are part of Mark Zuckerberg’s metaverse vision.

This first model is planned to be Android-based and to provide a genuine AR experience with 3D images, eye tracking, an outward-facing camera, stereo audio, a somewhat broad field of view, and a “socially acceptable” appearance.

The capacity to converse with other people’s holograms, as seen in a video last fall, would be the main selling point. Meta’s goal is to give a more immersive experience than ordinary video calling.

The device has thick black frames and weighs around 100 grams, which is almost four times the weight of standard spectacles.

It is supposed to have a 4-hour battery life and will be fueled by an integrated wireless puck that fits easily into a pocket.

Given the company’s absence of a working prototype as of yet, adjustments in the official launch could be expected.

In terms of pricing, the device is projected to be more expensive than the Oculus Quest 2 VR headset, which is presently available for $299.

This is most likely due to the high cost of the materials utilized in the production of these AR glasses.
