The PMD has revealed a possible date for Eid ul Fitr 2024 in Pakistan. According to the Met Office, Muslims across the country will likely celebrate Eid on April 11.
This means that Pakistanis will fast 30 times this year during the holy month of Ramadan. It should be noted that the holy month began on March 12th in the country, and the Shawwal moon will most likely be visible on April 10th.
The Cabinet Division announced the current year’s holiday schedule in December of last year. According to the Eid ul Fitr holiday schedule, Pakistanis will have off from April 10th to April 12th (Wednesday through Friday).
The weekend following the Eid ul Fitr holidays will provide an extended break for many Pakistanis, with five days off.
Eid in the UAE
Eid ul Fitr is expected to begin on April 10 in the UAE. According to Ibrahim Al Jarwan, chairman of the board of directors of the Emirates Astronomy Society, the Shawwal moon will most likely be seen on April 9, as reported by Gulf News. Jarwan added that the holy month of Ramadan is likely to last 30 days.
