Mercury’s CEO, Immad Akhund, shared his disappointment on Twitter about a recent decision affecting Pakistan-based beneficial owners. “It is especially sad since I was born in Pakistan,” he stated.

Mercury stopped letting new owners join because more than 10% of people signing up from Pakistan were doing bad things. Akhund said this problem didn’t happen with any other country that Mercury helps.

“We didn’t have this issue with any other country we support,” Akhund mentioned. He expressed uncertainty about the solution but emphasized the need for Pakistan to address the problem. “Not sure what the solution is but PK needs to clean up its act,” he concluded.
