Marriyum Aurangzeb encourages journalists to embrace modern technology

Marriyum Aurangzeb, Minister of Information and Broadcasting, urged the journalist community on Sunday to adapt to the modern demands of the profession.

She made these remarks while speaking to participants in a two-day mobile journalism training workshop at the Information Service Academy (ISA).

The information minister emphasized how electronic and social media have changed and how mobile journalism’ has become more important as it has sped up news coverage.

She added that organizations affiliated with the information ministry, such as PTV, APP, and Radio Pakistan, were taking steps to bring their reporters up to date.

“In 2018, we created the entire curriculum of the Information Service Academy,” Marriyum said, adding that equipping the ISA with modern technology was a necessity.

The minister suggested that officers from the Ministry of Information and Pakistani missions abroad receive virtual training.

She was pleased to see a large number of women attending the mobile journalism training workshop, stating that women were not lagging behind male journalists. “Women should be encouraged in every field.”

The press information department organized a two-day training workshop on “mobile journalism.”

Principal Information Officer Mubashir Hassan, Director General Information Service Academy Saeed Javed, press club officials, and a large number of journalists attended the closing ceremony.

Marriyum Aurangzeb also distributed certificates to the training workshop participants.
