Adnan Sabir, a man wanted for attempting to blackmail the German Embassy into granting him a visa, was detained by the FIA’s Counter Terrorism Wing. The German Embassy received a threatening email last year, and he was suspected of sending it. Threats were made in the email after his visa application was denied.
After writing the menacing email, Sabir fled into hiding to avoid legal consequences. But he wasn’t able to stay hidden from the police for very long. The cops were able to track him down by his smartphone’s position thanks to cutting-edge tracking technology.
Sabir, a native of Sialkot, was apprehended carrying a trove of secret paperwork. Because of the severity of his activities and the damage they could have caused, a Cyber Terrorism Act case has been opened against him. Meanwhile, on the outskirts of Gujranwala, FIA agents intercepted a shipment of Iranian tiles without proof of customs payment.
According to reports, FIA also intends to look into whether or not other high-ranking Customs personnel were involved in the suspected smuggling.
According to the FIR, the FIA was tipped off that a person was driving a lorry full of illegally imported tiles from Quetta to the Gujranwala bypass, where they would be distributed to several warehouses.
