The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has reduced the price of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) by Rs. 9.95 per Kilogram for the month of November 2023, as announced in a notification.
Reduction In LPG Prices
LPG producer prices, according to OGRA, are tied to Saudi Aramco-CP and the US$ dollar exchange rate.
Saudi Aramco-CP has increased by 1.15 percent over the previous month.
However, the average Dollar exchange rate has fallen by 6%, resulting in a Rs.117.47/11.8 kg cylinder (3.8%) decrease in Liquefied Petroleum Gas consumer price. The consumer price of Liquefied Petroleum Gas has decreased by Rs. 9.95 per kg.
Per Cylinder Cost From 1st Nov
According to an OGRA notification, the maximum producer price with GST is Rs. 2,474.83 per 11.8 KG cylinder, while the maximum Liquefied Petroleum Gas consumer price is Rs. 2,962.17/11.8 KG cylinder, both effective November 1, 2023.
Following OGRA’s notification regarding LPG prices for the month of November 2023, the price of a home cylinder would be reduced by Rs. 117, and the price of a commercial cylinder will be reduced by Rs 452.
LPG will now cost Rs. 251 per kg rather than Rs. 261 per kg, home cylinders will cost Rs. 2962 rather than Rs. 3080, and commercial cylinders will cost Rs. 11397 rather than Rs. 11849.
It is worth noting that Liquefied Petroleum Gas prices have risen in the worldwide market while falling in Pakistan, purportedly due to an increase in the value of the Pakistani rupee against the US dollar.
Usage
LPG is typically used in rural regions when natural gas is not available.
It is an alternative fuel that is mostly used in Pakistan for personal and commercial cooking.
It is also employed as an alternative fuel in the transportation industry, power generation, and any other energy-generating equipment.
