While Facebook and Google have had games on their platforms for years, YouTube and Discord have only lately launched them. Even LinkedIn, the professional networking platform, is considering adding games to its website.
Nothing beats discussing a job application while completing a fast puzzle, does it?
The success of Wordle and other online brainteasers prompted this shift. LinkedIn has stated that it is working on puzzle games called “Queens,” “Inference,” and “Crossclimb.”
According to a LinkedIn representative, these activities are designed to “unlock a bit of fun, deepen relationships, and spark conversations.”
The firm has yet to provide additional information, and there is no set debut date, but we can anticipate to see these games incorporated directly into the LinkedIn apps and website.
An interesting option to implement this feature would be to organise game scores by workspace, creating a pleasant rivalry amongst firms.
LinkedIn’s potential entry into gaming underlines firms’ continual efforts to improve user experiences and maintain engagement.
Previous initiatives have included online educational resources, a news division, and the incorporation of video techniques aimed at capturing innovators and influencers.
Only time will tell if LinkedIn’s push into gaming pays off for the professional networking platform. However, with Microsoft’s backing, LinkedIn surely has a lot of money.
