Citizens with the residence address in the provincial capital on their CNICs will be able to renew their driving licenses online, according to the City Traffic Police (CTP) of Lahore.
In this regard, the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) has already received a proposal from SSP Traffic Lahore to integrate the new system with the existing Driving License Issuance Management System (DLIMS).
In this respect, Shariq Jamal Khan, DIG Traffic Lahore, stated that representatives from CTP Lahore and PITB will meet on February 21 to finalize the details and launch date of the new system.
Citizens, especially abroad Pakistanis with licenses granted by CTP Lahore, will be able to renew their licenses from the comfort of their own homes once the system is live.
They’ll also be able to upload all of the necessary paperwork, such as medical fitness certifications and photographs, to the website. They’ll be able to pay for renewals using internet banking applications as well.
CTP Lahore said earlier this month that it will open a state-of-the-art driving licensing center called Manawan Traffic Police Lines, which will provide individuals with services 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Muntazir Mehdi, the Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) of Lahore, stated that after the new facility opens, driving licenses will be granted 24 hours a day, seven days a week for the convenience of the people.
