Lahore has received approval on the new tram service

In an effort to enhance public transit and enhance the aesthetic appeal of the city. The government of Punjab has made the decision to introduce a tram service in Lahore.

Lahore Development Authority

The green light came during a meeting at the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) headquarters. Which was presided over by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif.

Liberty, Main Market, Mini Market, and Hali Road are just a few of the important stops along the 11-kilometer tram route.

MM Alam Road will also be converted into a one-way street in order to make room for the tram route as part of a project that will involve remodeling and beautification.

It is projected that the project will cost Rs. 27 billion, and contemporary tram designs from Finland and China are being considered for potential implementation. Gaddafi Stadium will be the location of a unique stop that will be included.

Senior Provincial Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb

Together with senior provincial minister Marriyum Aurangzeb, special assistant on political issues Zeeshan Malik, and other officials, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif considered and endorsed this idea.

Completion Of The Project

Following the completion of the project, the administration will make an announcement regarding the cost of tickets for the Lahore tram service tickets.

In addition, the chief minister gave his approval to a plan that would create a signal-free corridor from Kareem Block to the Motorway. The purpose of this corridor is to improve the management of traffic in Lahore.
