Saudi Arabia issues Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) a severe warning for outstanding debts.

The Riyadh Airport Authority (RAA) has warned the airline that if it doesn’t pay its overdue balance of SAR 8.2 million, flights may be disrupted.

Deadline For PIA To Clear The Debt

The RAA set a deadline of July 15 for the airline to clear the debt, emphasizing the potential repercussions of flight cancellations in the event that payment was not made on time.

The RAA’s warning message adds to national flag carrier’s escalating financial difficulties; Jeddah Airport had already issued a warning to the airline for comparable non-payment issues.

The fact that the national flag carrier is presently operating the Hajj operation and carrying pilgrims back from the holy land only makes the issue worse.

Although the RAA’s reminder was accepted by a PIA spokeswoman, who also confirmed that payment plans are in place, the airline must move quickly to address the issue and prevent further interruptions to its flight schedule.

If the payment is not provided to Saudi authorities, the national flag carrier’s flights during the next Umrah season, when many Pakistani pilgrims depend on the airline’s services, may be in jeopardy.

Despite the Pakistani government investing substantial sums of money into the airline to aid in its revival, PIA has continued to experience financial difficulties over time.

This most recent RAA warning emphasizes how critical it is for PIA to increase its financial performance and swiftly fulfill its obligations.

As the deadline draws near, PIA needs to focus on paying the debts in order to prevent expected flight delays and strive toward long-term financial stability.

The issue occurs while Hajj pilgrims are departing Saudi Arabia for Pakistan in the second phase of Hajj operations.

Thousands of Pakistani pilgrims will be stuck in Saudi Arabia if PIA airline operations are disrupted.
