In an effort to generate renewable energy and reduce the burden on the national grid, Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) has begun construction on the city’s first-ever solar park.
At Kidney Hill Park, KMC Administrator Barrister Murtaza Wahab officially broke ground on the solar park project.
Barrister Wahab tweeted that the KMC has started working on the project that would produce 100 kilowatts of power in this respect. He continued by saying that the solar park’s clean energy production will be used to pay for the area’s street lights.

He had stated that the solar panels will start producing power in a matter of months and will cost Rs. 5 million per month to produce 100kw of electricity.
Separately, the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) said that it will progressively convert all of the nation’s airports to solar power. Additionally, it has instructed the pertinent authorities to develop a feasibility plan for the solar energy conversion of Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport.
