K-Electric CEO gets bail-able arrest warrant from Sindh High Court

The case of a power outage was heard in the SHC, according to details.

The court issued a bail able arrest warrant for CEO K-Electric and directed the Additional IG to comply within an hour. The court ordered that KE CEO to bring within an hour.

Following the issuance of the arrest warrant, K Electric officials appeared in court and stated that the electricity was not disconnected due to the company, but rather due to a fault in the NTDC transmission line.

Justice SalahUddin Panhwar stated that the Sindh High Court pays the KE a monthly bill of Rs. 6 million and questioned how judges could perform their duties if there was no electricity.

The SHC bench stated that it is the KE’s responsibility to supply electricity from the mobile/portable  generator Justice Salahuddin Panhwar stated that the SHC should have access to electricity at all times.

The court ordered KE officials to submit written suggestions on how to ensure uninterrupted power supply to the courts.

Earlier, K-Electric spokesperson Imran Rana stated that the utility had received reports of multiple outages from various parts of Karachi. “We are investigating the issue and will keep you updated,” he said.
