Jazz has been fined Rs. 30 million by the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) for poor service quality in more than a half-dozen cities across Pakistan.
Jazz was fined after failing to meet the Quality of Services Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) in seven cities, according to the PTA.
In addition to the penalties, Jazz was warned to enhance the quality of licensed services in order to reach or exceed the goal value of QoS parameters as set forth in the license standards and QoS Regulations.
If the licensee fails to comply, legal action will be taken against him or her according to the law.
It’s worth noting that the judgment was reached by a panel led by Chairman PTA Maj. Gen. Amir Azeem Bajwa (R).
It’s worth noting that PTA conducted a QoS survey in December 2020, and Jazz was found to fall short of the basic service quality standards.
The operator was advised of the shortage and given a month to correct the problem.
Jazz, on the other hand, did not follow the directions and was unable to improve its network in at least seven locations.
It’s worth noting that Jazz is expected to meet or surpass the Quality of Service standards established in Appendix-Ill of the license and the QoS Regulations at all times, as per the License condition.
In the event of a failure, Telco could be cautioned, penalized, or have its license revoked.
Jazz has lately been in hot water when its system went down for weeks, preventing users from changing packages, paying bills, or getting new SIM cards, among other things.
Given the aforesaid punishment, it appears like Jazz will face yet another hefty fine.
