Syed Amin Ul Haque, Federal Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunication, has urged all provinces, including Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) and Gilgit-Baltistan (GB), to implement the Cloud Policy.
On Wednesday, he was presiding over a meeting to discuss the implementation of Cloud Policy. The meeting was attended by officials from four provinces, including AJK and GB, via video link.
Dr. Sohail Rajput, Secretary of Information Technology, Osman Nasir, Managing Director of the Pakistan Software Export Board, and senior Ministry of Information Technology officials were also present.
Federal Minister Syed Amin Ul Haque stated in his remarks that the federal cabinet’s approval of the Cloud Policy was a great success.
“The objective of the Cloud Policy is to make things better. We have to take along the provinces,” he underlined. He stated that the Cloud Policy would increase investment in the country.
The Minister stated that implementing the Cloud Policy would not only secure data but would also aid in ensuring transparency. He stated that the internet connectivity issue in AJK and GB would be addressed as soon as possible. He assured that steps are being taken to improve connectivity in Balochistan.
Speaking on the occasion, Secretary IT emphasized the importance of aligning each province’s Cloud Policy, including AJK and GB, with the Federation’s Cloud Policy.
The governments of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, AJK, and GB have agreed to implement the Cloud Policy, while representatives from Sindh have expressed conditional approval.
