Israel plans to seize and challenge the Gaza-Egypt border

Egyptian officials said Israel might use the accusations to keep fighting in Rafah and continue the war for political reasons.

Egypt, Cairo hasn’t said anything official yet, but people worry Israel taking over could break the peace deal from 1979.

In Gaza, phones and internet aren’t working because of the genocide, says Jawa. People saw battles in Rafah that killed five near a place with food and four in a hospital in west Rafah from bombs.

People also saw Israel destroy buildings where the fighting started on May 7. They started with the Rafah border crossing, which is a main way for help.

AFP saw shooting and bombs in north Gaza. There was a lot of smoke over Jabalia and Beit Lahia, where refugees live.

Tel Aviv Lifts Ban on Food Sales to Gaza from Israel

Food sales in Gaza started again. Reuters said Tel Aviv allowed food sales from Israel and the West Bank to Gaza. Gazan traders can buy fresh fruit, vegetables, and dairy products again. They buy them from Israeli and Palestinian suppliers.

This happened after Israeli forces attacked Rafah. Palestinian officials, businessmen, and aid workers said this. Two distributors in Gaza did not say how much they traded.

They pay West Bank suppliers with bank transfers. They get cash from local markets.

Slovenian recognition of Palestine

Slovenia is planning to recognize Palestine as a country. Spain, Norway, and Ireland said this before. Slovenia’s leaders will vote on this soon.

The left-wing government wants to make this faster. Before, it should end in mid-June.

Prime Minister Robert Golob talked to reporters. He said this is a message of peace. He thinks now is the time for the whole world to help make peace in the Middle East.

This is with a two-states plan. At a news meeting, a Palestinian flag went up. It was next to Slovenia’s and the EU’s flags. This was at the prime minister’s office in the capital.
