Tel Aviv Lifts Ban on Food Sales to Gaza from Israel
Food sales in Gaza started again. Reuters said Tel Aviv allowed food sales from Israel and the West Bank to Gaza. Gazan traders can buy fresh fruit, vegetables, and dairy products again. They buy them from Israeli and Palestinian suppliers.
This happened after Israeli forces attacked Rafah. Palestinian officials, businessmen, and aid workers said this. Two distributors in Gaza did not say how much they traded.
They pay West Bank suppliers with bank transfers. They get cash from local markets.
Slovenian recognition of Palestine
Slovenia is planning to recognize Palestine as a country. Spain, Norway, and Ireland said this before. Slovenia’s leaders will vote on this soon.
The left-wing government wants to make this faster. Before, it should end in mid-June.
Prime Minister Robert Golob talked to reporters. He said this is a message of peace. He thinks now is the time for the whole world to help make peace in the Middle East.
