Islamabad United a massive victory, Hales-Sterling outperforms

Islamabad United started their PSL 2022 campaign with a bang, defeating Peshawar Zalmi by 9 wickets. Islamabad has moved to the 2nd spot in the PSL points table, while Zalmi has dropped to fourth.

Peshawar Zalmi’s batting got off to a shaky start as they lost early wickets. Shoaib Malik’s experience and Sherfane Rutherford‘s explosiveness helped them steady the ship. They put on a fantastic recovery before Ben Cutting closed the game in a spectacular manner, helping Zalmi record 168/6.

The openers of Islamabad United got off to a flying start, dismantling Zalmi’s bowling attack. United chased down the target with 9 wickets in hand and 4 overs to spare, thanks to quickfire fifties from Stirling and Hales. The Zalmi bowlers were unable to cope with the assault, and their only wicket came as a result of a runout.
