The Islamabad Capital Territory Police (ICTP) has fined 5,296 cars for using pressure horns so far, this fiscal year. The department’s public relations (PR) officer provided the information. He said that the Islamabad capital police is taking harsh action against cars that harm the atmosphere and use pressure horns on the orders of IGP Islamabad Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan.

The ICTP has penalized 2,862 cars for generating smoke in addition to pressure horn users. IGP has instructed all Zonal DSPs to take stern action against polluting cars in this respect. This campaign will be directly overseen by the ICTP’s Chief Traffic Officer (CTO).

In order to carry out the campaign against smoke-emitting automobiles, the department has established mobile squads. Authorities have put in place specialized squads to undertake routine inspections and punish vehicles that contribute to noise or other types of environmental pollution.

The Islamabad Capital Territory Police (ICTP) has changed the posted speed restrictions on a number of the city’s roadways and motorways. The agency has warned the general people to abide by the restrictions or else they risk getting a large e-challan sent to their home.

The declaration made clear that the speed limit on the Murree Road, Islamabad Highway, and Srinagar Highway will be 80 km/h for light-duty vehicles (LTV) and 65 km/h for heavy-duty vehicles (HTV).
