With Apple expected to announce the iPhone 14 series on September 7 at their special “Far Out” event, rumors are still rife. The latest leak comes from a short hands-on video posted by Chinese tipster DuanRui on the Chinese social media website Weibo, which hints at the iPhone 14’s radical redesign and new colors.
The dummy iPhone Pro 14 unit may resemble the final design because it confirms previous leaks, such as the transition from a notched to a punched-hole design.
It also reveals a new gleaming purple hue. When viewed from different angles, the finish appears to change tones.
DuanRui also reposted a series of Weibo images that reveal more details about the colors and dual punched-hole design.
According to one render, the iPhone 14 will be available in purple, blue, graphite, and gold. Take these images with a grain of salt, as some leakers have called them into question.
The dual punched-hole design features a circular and pill-shaped cutout on the screen, a departure from previous iPhones’ notch.
The holes appear to be slightly larger than expected, and iPhone owners are skeptical of the new design.
However, according to reports, Apple will only use this new setup on the Pro models, leaving the standard iPhones with the familiar screen cutout.
Several other leaked features and upgrades have surfaced in recent months. According to rumors, the Pro models will have a 48MP primary camera and an always-on display, while all iPhone 14 models will have a new selfie camera.
On September 7, Apple will host its “Far Out” event at Apple Park. Along with the new iPhone 14 lineup, fans can look forward to the release of the Apple Watch Series 8.
