iOS 16.4 is now available. Apple’s newest iPhone update is now available for download after weeks of anticipation.
The update includes a number of bug and security fixes, as well as new features such as a new set of emoji and voice isolation for cellular conversations.
iPhone new updates
Some of the benefits of iOS 16.4 for your iPhone are listed below. And here’s what you should know before installing the update to prevent problems with the download.
31 new emoticons
Your device will receive 31 new emoji as part of the iOS 16.4 upgrade. A new smiley, new creatures such as a moose and a goose, and new heart colours such as pink and light blue are among the new emoji.
The new emoji are all from Unicode’s Emoji 15.0 suggestion list, which was released in September 2022.
Voice Isolation is now available for cellular conversations
Voice Isolation was debuted with 2021, and it was limited to FaceTime calls at the time. With iOS 16.4, you can now use the function on cellular calls as well.
When activated, Voice Isolation can help the person on the other end of the phone hear you more clearly by muffled background noises such as children playing in the other room or construction outside your window.
As a result, it may reduce the number of times you have to repeat yourself during a phone conversation because the other person can’t hear you.
Find picture duplicates in shared albums with ease
Duplicate photos in shared albums in Photos can be readily found in iOS 16.4. If you use iCloud to share pictures with family or friends, new update will display all duplicates across albums. These duplicate images can also be Merged.
PlayStation 5 gamepad support
iOS 16.4 includes support for the PlayStation 5 DualSense Edge Wireless Controller, according to MacRumors.
On your iPhone, you can use the joystick to play controller-enabled games from services such as Apple Arcade, a CNET Editors’ Choice award winner.
Apple Books has been updated
After being removed in an earlier iOS update, the page-turn curl animation is back in Apple Books with iOS 16.4.
When you flipped a page in an ebook on your iPhone before, the page would either slide to one side of the screen or vanish and be replaced by the next page. In addition to the curl motion, you can choose from the following other page-turn animations.
Modifications to the music programme
In iOS 16.4, the Music interface has been significantly modified. When you add a music to your queue, instead of a full-screen pop-up as in earlier iOS versions, a small banner appears near the bottom of your screen.
Updates to Apple Podcasts
With iOS 16.4, Apple Podcasts receives an upgrade as well. You can now reach a Channels tab in your Library, which displays the networks you follow. Tap into each channel to see the programmes you subscribe to as well as other shows produced by that channel.
