On Monday morning, Instagram acknowledged that many users were having problems accessing their accounts.
On Twitter, a huge number of individuals reported having their accounts terminated. As of 10:19 a.m. ET, Downdetector, a service that monitors app and website outages, had received over 7,000 reports of issues with the photo-sharing app. Users on down director also claimed that their accounts had been removed or deactivated.
At 10:14 a.m. on Twitter, Instagram expressed regret for the inconvenience and added, “We’re looking into it.”
The parent company of Instagram, Meta, did not immediately respond to a query from USA TODAY regarding the outage on Monday morning.
Screenshots of the message that shows while attempting to log in have been posted by users. We suspended your account on October 31, 2022, because “your account breached community norms,” according to many screenshots. Additionally, the mails stated that “your account would be permanently deactivated if we cannot validate it.”

When one Twitter user attempted to appeal the suspension of their Instagram account, they encountered an error notice that said, “The username that you’ve supplied doesn’t appear to belong to an account.” Please try again after checking your username.
