Jay Shah, Secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), gave his approval to take part in the Asia Cup 2023 under the hybrid strategy recommended by the PCB.

Four of the big event’s matches would reportedly be held at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium, with the remaining matches taking place elsewhere, according to media reports.

This choice was made when the PCB was able to get the support of the Asian teams for their suggested strategy for hosting the event using the hybrid model.

It was revealed last week that the Pakistan cricket board’s hybrid model has already received confirmations from Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, and Nepal.

The BCCI has a condition connected to their approval of the plan, though, as they need a formal guarantee from Pakistan regarding a visit to India for the 2023 World Cup.

PCB’s proposed Hybrid Plan For Asia Cup 2023

A hybrid model has two choices that PCB has offered. The first option calls for India to host its matches at a neutral site while Pakistan would host the other matches.

The second strategy calls for splitting the occasion into two halves. With the exception of India, the first phase would take place in Pakistan, and the second would take place in the United Arab Emirates.
