To increase 20% in SC Judges salaries, Chairman Senate order

Acting President and Chairman of the Senate Sadiq Sanjrani has issued an order for pay raises for the Supreme Court judges including CJP Umar Ata Bandial.

The base pay for Pakistan’s Chief Justice has raised by roughly 20% to Rs 1,229,189.

The basic pay for other Supreme Court judges has been increased by 20% to Rs. 1,161,163.

The order said that the increased salary would start on July 1.

Since President Arif Alvi was away for the Hajj, Sadiq Sanjrani, who was serving in the president’s absence, issued the decree.

20% Increase in SC Judges Salaries

The base salaries of all Supreme Court and High Court justices, including the Chief Justice, would increase by 20% by June 30th, according to Finance Minister Ishaq Dar.

Ishaq Dar added that the concessions measure from the Senate Chairman was not included in the funding bill. The PML-N has decided as a matter of principle that neither the Chairman Senate nor the National Assembly will endorse the bill of concessions.

The Public Accounts Committee had previously received salary information from the government, which included information on the salaries of Pakistan’s President, Prime Minister, and Chief Justice.

Noor Alam Khan, the committee’s chairman, informed the attendees that the auditor general’s report indicated that the president earns Rs. 896,550 per year, the prime minister earns Rs. 215,000, and the chief justice of Pakistan earns Rs. 1.575 million per year, in addition to the supreme court judge’s salary of Rs. 1.47 million.

The remuneration of a grade 22 federal official is Rs. 591,475, while that of a federal minister is Rs. 338,125, and that of a member of parliament is Rs. 188,000.
