IMC has reached a production milestone of one million units

The one-millionth Toyota Corolla Altis Grande was queued up at the company’s Karachi factory. Over 4,000 Toyota employees and representatives attended the event, including Yoshiki Konishi, current Executive Advisor & President-elect, Toyota-Daihatsu Engineering & Manufacturing.

From producing 20 units per day and little more than 7,000 units per year with a single model (Corolla) in 1993 to around 65,000 units per year with four domestically built models now, IMC has come a long way.

According to records, the business has manufactured 761,700 units of Corolla, 45,400 units of Yaris, 111,900 units of Hilux and Fortuner (combined), and roughly 81,000 Cuore with the Daihatsu badge since the start of commercial production.

“For the past three decades, our Team Toyota Pakistan has continuously strived to exceed our customers’ expectations by producing high-quality, dependable, and safe vehicles that have met all challenges with great success, growing from strength to strength in making Toyota the leading and trusted brand in Pakistan.”

Your vision and determination to assist the growth of the local car manufacturing industry are admirable. I am confident that this will contribute to our efforts to increase the number of Toyota fans in Pakistan. We are very sure that the Pakistan market has enormous potential, and we have big hopes for IMC.”

In his own words, the company’s Chairman, Mohamed Ali R Habib, stated: “Toyota & Japan have remained the most committed partners for Pakistan and very recently, we celebrated the 70th anniversary of the establishment of the country’s diplomatic relations with Japan. We value our relationship and send our warmest wishes to the people of Japan. The level of localization we have achieved would not have been possible without the constant support and endeavours of our partners. I would like to congratulate each and every individual on my team for achieving this milestone and many more to follow, InshaAllah, together.”

On this occasion, Ali Asghar Jamali, CEO of IMC, stated:

“Alhamdolillah, today is a proud, yet a very humbling moment for all of us at IMC. It’s the realization of a dream envisioned by our late Chairman, Ali Habib. The past 30 years have been a journey of crests and troughs, but what has seen us through is the resilience, persistence and commitment to quality that has helped us reach this far. We are proud of our contributions to the auto industry and the country’s economy.”
