Within the first day of creating his TikTok account, Imran Khan had amassed nearly 3 million followers. However, it was evident that this was only the beginning, as the ex-prime minister’s social media following proceeded to soar.
At the time of writing, Imran Khan has amassed 6.7 million followers, making him the most popular political leader on the app. In that time, with only 12 uploads, he has amassed 40.7 million likes. More than 450 million people have seen his videos on the app so far.
With 6.6 million, Imran Khan has more supporters than El Salvador’s incumbent president, Nayib Bukele. Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, president of Brazil, has 4.4 million followers, good enough for third place.
Different leaders have less following than IK
Currently, Emmanuel Macron of France has 3.9 million followers, followed by Gustavo Petro of Colombia with 1.7 million. Bernie Sanders in the United States has 1.4 million supporters, whereas Giorgia Meloni in Italy has 1.2 million. But with over 822,000, US Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is the only one on the list who doesn’t have a million.
If Imran Khan keeps uploading content to TikTok every day and each of his videos continues to receive over 5 million views, we can expect to see another increase in his popularity on the platform in the near future. His most popular video is almost over 200 million views.
