Huawei, a Chinese multinational corporation, is preparing to launch its own artificial intelligence chatbot, dubbed ‘Pangu Chat.’
Huawei launchs Pangu Chat
This chatbot is built on Huawei’s large-scale learning model, which is said to have 100 billion parameters, making it the first Chinese pre-trained model with such a large parameter count.
Pangu Chat is expected to perform similarly to GPT-3, though GPT-4 is said to have over 170 trillion parameters, outperforming Huawei’s model by a wide margin.
The Pangu Chat, which is named after the Pangu cloud model, will be unveiled on July 7th at the Developer Conference (Cloud).
It will, however, be initially available to businesses, with plans to sell it to government and enterprise customers later.
Huawei has spent 960 million yuan on 2000 Ascend 910 chipsets and 4000 GPU/TPU cards to train the Pangu cloud model over the last three years.
In addition, it has created the Pangu-E large model, which is the successor to the Pangu cloud model. In terms of parameter count, it has been tested to have an output of nearly 1.085 trillion parameters, competing with GPT-4 and surpassing GPT-3.5.
