After two years, Huawei intends to launch the Mate 50 series. Huawei has officially announced the Mate 50 series launch date of September 6.
The series should include two smartphones, the Mate 50 and Mate 50 Pro. However, some reports claim that a Mate 50 RS version will also be available. Furthermore, it will be Huawei’s first flagship lineup following the end of its partnership with Leica.
The phones will also reportedly include a HI Silicon NPU for XMAGE processing, an in-house replacement for the camera technology co-developed with Leica.
According to reports, all three models will have a switchable aperture for the 50MP main camera (f/1.4 and f/4). On the Mate 50 Pro and Mate 50 RS, that should be an IMX800, but on the standard model, it should be an IMX766.
The telephoto lens on all three models will be unspecified, as will the ultra-wide lens. On the Pro and RS models, the selfie camera will be a 13MP unit with a 3D sensor for face unlock.
All three phones will include 66W fast charging for the Pro and RS’s 4,500mAh batteries. The vanilla model, on the other hand, will have a 4,400mAh battery with the same charging support as its siblings.
The Huawei Mate 50, Mate 50 Pro, and Mate 50 RS will all be equipped with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor. Aside from the standard model, the remaining two will have 5G connectivity.
The Pro and RS models will also have 12GB of RAM and 128/256/512GB of storage. The standard Mate 50 will have 8GB of RAM and 128/256GB of storage.
