The new Emoji Wallpapers, which were introduced at Google I/O 2023, are now available for download on the Google Pixel and the Android 14 Beta. Custom Emoji Wallpapers may be made with ease in the Emoji Workshop.
The new theme lets you customize your background by choosing up to 14 emojis to display in a variety of colors and styles. These interactive backgrounds change when the user scrolls across the home screen.
New backgrounds are available for Pixel devices, as they are for every new Android release. Android 14 Developer Beta 3 and subsequent users can also access the Emoji Wallpapers. The Emoji Workshop is compatible with the Pixel 4a and later. Users using Android 14 Developer Preview 3 on their phones can also get it.
The method for choosing backgrounds has not changed in Android 12. With Android 14 Beta 3 or later, however, a new wallpaper category known as “Emoji Workshop” becomes available. Emoji backgrounds are not available on devices running Android 14 Beta 2 or earlier.
Creating Emoji wallpaper is easy
Follow these steps on your Google Pixel phone or any other Android device running Android 14 Beta 3 or later to personalize your Emoji background with Emoji Workshop.
- First, hold down the home button for a while.
- Navigate to the Wallpaper & Design tab.
- Make More background Selections.
- Select your desired emojis, pattern, and color via the Edit Emoji menu option.
- Using the slider in the Patterns menu, you can change the emojis’ size and density.

The Emoji Workshop allows users to create custom wallpapers with a library of over 4,000 emojis. Up to 14 emojis can be selected, and both the style and density can be adjusted using the slider. Changing the backdrop and emoji color makes it interactive.
