Intently focus on your goals for the remaining 10 days of Ramadan. Don’t give in to self-doubt or negative reflections about your performance. It’s important to keep in mind that it’s never too late to make amends and that forgiveness is always an option. Don’t let regrets about missed opportunities stop you from pursuing your goals now. Think positively on the next 10 days and make them the most fruitful and successful of your life.
Tips for Ramadan nights
- Get into the spirit of the night by dressing up. What you wear and how you groom yourself might affect your frame of mind and approach to worship. Pick on your nicest outfit and splash on some perfume before you go out. Give in to the want to be pumped up and prepared for this evening’s worship service.
- Set aside some time to read the Tafseer of Sura al-Qadr and learn more about the meaning of this miraculous evening. If you take the time to do this, you’ll be able to fully appreciate the miraculous nature of this event and all that it means to you.
- Make the most of the final 10 days of Ramadan now, rather than waiting for the 27th Night. Don’t sleep through the nights you can and lose out on Laylatul Qadr. Don’t participate in any social or cultural activities that could detract from your efforts to follow the Sunnah. Whoever remains up and prays on Laylat al-Qadr with the belief and hope of reward will have their previous sins pardoned, as was simply advised to us by the Prophet SAW.
- Learning and regularly reciting the prayer that Rasulullah saw taught, “Allaahumma innaka ‘afuwwun tuhibb al-‘afwa fa’affu ‘anni” (O Allah, You are the Forgiver and You adore forgiveness, therefore forgive me), is an excellent way to cultivate a more forgiving disposition. This stirring invocation will always remind you of Allah’s boundless compassion and forgiveness.
- Be ready for the great Night of Qadr, the Night of Destiny in Ramadan, by making a list of personal prayers. This is a once-in-a-lifetime chance to beg Allah, the Most Compassionate, for forgiveness. Choose carefully the things that are most important to you in this life, in your faith, with your loved ones, and in the next. Don’t forget to pray for your brothers and sisters around the world, especially those who are going through tough times. Make the most of this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity by compiling a list of prayer requests to the Almighty (‘dua’).
- My dua journal is where you keep track of prayers. If possible, nap briefly during the day. In addition, after saying the Isha prayer, try to get some rest immediately. Keep from putting things off! Get some rest, then get cleaned up and ready for worship.
- Don’t let these significant occasions pass without spending time with your loved ones. Make it fun for your older kids to remain up late and learn to navigate the night on their own. Think of a fun activity that will get kids involved in worship, or whip up a special treat that you only serve on worship nights of Ramadan. Don’t forget that the time spent with your loved ones is of equal value as the time spent in private prayer.
- Choose a quiet place by yourself where you won’t be disturbed and set up your prayer mat, Quran, and water. The best way to connect with Allah SWT is to disconnect from social media and the outside world. If you find yourself getting sleepy during worship, try switching things up a bit.
- It’s crucial to keep things lively at night so that you don’t get sleepy. To combat my drowsiness, you can drink a cup of coffee. Alternating between acts of worship like as qiyaam, sincere du’a, and reading the Quran can be very beneficial in Ramadan. Listening to lengthy lectures or recitations may also cause drowsiness, so limit them to small portions.
- Success requires a persistent attitude. The last 10 days of Ramadan can be trying, especially if you still have to go to work or take care of your kids and house. But, now is the moment to persevere through adversity and remain unwavering. Keep in mind that Allah SWT has granted us a once-in-a-lifetime chance.
Having positive expectations of Allah SWT is also essential. Keep your mind that when you make dua’, you are begging the Most Generous. Expect the best, and God will deliver the best. Do not hesitate or question His kindness and forgiveness in the month of Ramadan. Have entire faith in Him, expose yourself emotionally to Him, and let nothing prevent you from Ar-Rahman, Ar-Raheem.
