Honda intends to introduce an A-segment crossover SUV in order to diversify its SUV lineup. Although it hasn’t been given an official name yet, reports claim that the mini-SUV will be known as WR-V and will compete with the Kia Sonet, Toyota Raize, Daihatsu Rocky, and other SUVs of the same nature.
The SUV and the Suzuki Swift-competing Honda Jazz are built on the same basis. Last year, the business introduced its concept in Indonesia.
The concept, known as the RS SUV, had a number of contemporary design elements. The production version, though, appears to be a much simpler vehicle in the leaked photographs.
Sharp headlamps that are typical of Honda, a mesh front grille with a spotted chrome look, and a sporty front bumper are all present on the front fascia.
A few character lines, a tough alloy wheel design, and backed-out roof rails are the only distinguishing aspects of the side’s appearance.
The back end has a familiar taillight and tailgate design, making it resemble various previous Honda SUVs.
According to reports, the base model of the WR-V will use a naturally aspirated 1.2-liter engine from the City or a 1.5-liter engine from the BR-V.
The RS model, on the other hand, will have a more potent turbo engine for more sportiness.
Although it hasn’t been confirmed, the starting price for the Honda WR-V is expected to be around RM. 72,600. (Rs. 3.4 million approx.).
At this pricing, Honda might start to pose a threat to other mini-SUVs already on the market.
