Chief Meteorologist Sardar Sarfaraz said that it will be very hot heatwave from May 23 to 28. He also said rain might start in early June.
The Meteorological Office said strong winds could cause a big heatwave, especially in Sindh and Punjab.
A big heatwave will hit Pakistan from May 23 to 27. It will be 4 to 6 degrees hotter than usual in Sindh and Punjab.
It will also be 4 to 6 degrees hotter in Islamabad, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Balochistan.
People are told to stay inside and not go out in the sun too much to stay healthy.
The dry and hot weather might cause bush and forest fires in parts of Punjab, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, and Northeast Balochistan.

- Umarkot
- Larkana
- Rahim Yar Khan
- Bahawalpur
- Sukkur
- Naudero
- Nawabshah
- Multan
Most of the flat areas of the country will have a big heatwave. The department said the flat areas of Sindh and Punjab will be affected the most.
The temperatures there are expected to be 4 to 6 degrees hotter than usual.
The weather will stay very hot and dry in Islamabad and nearby places.
Lahore Hospitals Take Special Action for Heatwave
The Punjab Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) is taking action because of the growing heatwave. They have issued an alert for Punjab, including the big city of Lahore.
Special things are being done to make the impact of the extreme heat less.
In Lahore, special places have been set up at Mayo Hospital and General Hospital to help people with the heat. The hospitals have signs with advice to help people with the high temperatures.
The hospital staff said they are ready, with all the medicines they need to treat people who are affected by the heatwave.
“We haven’t had any patients with heat-related sickness,” said a hospital boss. “But we are ready to help if there are any cases.”
