Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s Med Health Expo and Summit 2023 included Yasir Khan Niazi, CEO of Dr Akbar Niazi Teaching Hospital and Islamabad Medical & Dental College, who spoke on a panel about the prospects for health tourism in Pakistan.

Yasir Niazi was one of several prominent personalities, including Asim Rauf, CEO of the Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DRAP), invited by the RCCI to help shape Pakistan’s healthcare conversation. Yasir Niazi, in his speech, stressed the importance of health tourism to the growth of Pakistan’s economy.

He spoke highly of Pakistan’s healthcare infrastructure, notably the country’s large number of highly trained medical professionals. The need for modernization, infrastructure improvement, and quality assurance were all things he pointed out as places for growth in the healthcare industry.

Pakistan health culture is remarkable

This is an opportunity for Pakistan to share its culture with the rest of the globe, not simply its medical expertise. It is time for our country to capitalise on the multibillion-dollar medical and wellness tourism market, as emphasised by Yasir Niazi.

Yasir Niazi drew on data from all over the world to contrast the current state of health tourism with Pakistan’s rapidly developing healthcare infrastructure. He illuminated the potential economic boon for Pakistan and urged hospitals in the public and private sectors to work together to create an enticing environment for medical tourism.

In appreciation of Yasir Niazi’s intelligent involvement in the panel discussion, RCCI President Saqib Rafiq, Senior Vice President Hamza Sarosh, and Vice President Faisal Shahzad presented him with a memorable souvenir.
